01 / Meet Chanine
Experience that started on the building site.
CDC Consulting was founded by Chanine De Clercq, whose connection to construction began long before CDC Consulting existed.
Her father was a contractor, which meant building sites were part of everyday life. Through that environment she developed an early understanding of the practical side of construction and the many different elements that need to work together.
After attending technical school, Chanine gained experience as a draftsman in an architectural environment before becoming increasingly interested in site operations.
Her experience later extended into precast concrete manufacturing, sales and ready-mix concrete.
Those experiences provide CDC with a perspective that combines technical understanding, practical site experience and knowledge of the broader building industry.

02 / The story behind "Slafie"
Not just a nickname. A reminder of where it all started.
Growing up around her father's construction business, Chanine was often sent around building sites to help with whatever needed to be done.
Eventually, after being shunted from one task to another, she told her father:
“Ek is nie jou slaaf nie!”
Her father's response was to laugh and say:
“Okay, Slafie. Gaan maak vir jou pa 'n koppie koffie.”
The nickname stuck.
Today, the name represents much more than the childhood story behind it. It reflects the practical, hands-on attitude that has remained part of Chanine's approach to the building industry.
